Cold Stacking Print
Intended lay-up period of twelve to twenty-four months.
No Crew.
  • The vessel to be anchored separately by own anchor or in raft.
  • Machinery spaces, Living quarters and Control Rooms etc. totally isolated and kept dry by large dehumidifiers run certain numbers of hours per week or as require to maintain agreed level of Humidity.
  • All doors to Accommodations, Machinery Spaces and Store Rooms etc. to be welded shut except as required for access which to be Pad Locked.
  • Major Machinery and Equipment to be demobilized and fully protected as per Lay-up Plan. Protective grease or other protective coating to be applied to exposed metal etc. Liquids to be drained, pumps and piping systems to be opened up and dried or inhibitor to be added as per Lay-up Plan. All electric Switch Boards and Boxes etc. to be either opened up to allow de-humidified air to circulate or to be sealed with Silica Gel added. Circuit Breakers to be open and contacts protected with non-corrosive vaseline or equivalent. Electric motors to be either opened up to allow de-humidified air to circulate, or to be sealed with Silica Gel added. Starters to be protected with non-corrosive Vaseline or equivalent.
  • Life Saving Appliances and Fire Fighting Equipment not required during the Lay-up period to be removed and placed in safe storage in de-humidified Store Room or in the Living Quarters. What cannot be removed to be protected against the elements by heavy duty plastic wrapping or other means as per Lay-up Plan.
  • Portable Generator(s) only to be used for power supply during the Lay-up period. Emergency Generator may be kept operational to power dehumidifiers and for Emergencies.
  • Our Maintenance Crew to turn over electric motors, pumps and other equipment by hand according to schedule in the Lay-up Plan.
